• Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password to manage your credits and subscription status.
• Webpage Content: When you actively click the extension button to summarize a page, we temporarily extract the visible text (document.body.innerText) of that specific active tab.
• IP Address: We briefly process your IP address during the checkout process to display the correct local currency and pricing.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data strictly for the following core functionalities:

• Providing Summaries: The text extracted from your active tab is sent to our backend and processed via our AI provider (DeepSeek) to generate the requested HTML charts and summaries.
• Account & Credit Management: Your email address is used to authenticate you, track your available credits, and grant you access to the service.
• Payment Processing: We use your email and IP address to facilitate secure transactions and subscription management through our payment processor.

3. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or browsing data to third parties. We only share data with trusted service providers necessary to operate the extension:

• DeepSeek (AI Processing): Webpage text is sent to DeepSeek's API solely for the purpose of generating the summary and charts.
• Stripe (Payment Processing): If you choose to subscribe, your email address is shared with Stripe to manage your secure checkout session and recurring payments. We do not store your credit card details on our servers.

4. Data Retention and Security

• Webpage Text: The text extracted from webpages is processed in real-time. It is temporarily held in local storage and memory during processing and is not permanently stored on our servers.
• Account Data: Your email and hashed password are securely stored in our database. Passwords are encrypted using industry-standard hashing algorithms (bcrypt).

5. Permissions Justification

Our Chrome Extension requests specific permissions for the following operational reasons:

• activeTab: Allows the extension to access the content of the currently open tab only when you explicitly click the extension icon.
• scripting: Required to execute the script that copies the visible text from the webpage so it can be summarized.
• storage: Used to temporarily pass the extracted text from the background worker to the user interface during processing.
